Roof Sit Team Information

Dear CA/N Roof Sit Supporter:

Greetings to CA/N Council Roof Sit Teams and sponsors! It is that time again to start the fundraising for the 2013 Roof Sit! Despite a challenged economy, we are always amazed and grateful for the generosity of our teams and sponsors. We know that our past success is due to the work done by the team members, and the businesses and individuals who find CA/N a worthy cause. This year’s goal is $13,000. We know that with your help, we can make it happen!

The Roof Sit is the Council’s largest fundraiser each year, raising more than $10,000 in prevention dollars annually to combat startling statistics. In the US, nearly four children each day, or 1,300 each year, die from abuse or neglect. In Michigan, every five minutes a child is the reported victim of child abuse or neglect. For every $1 of prevention spent, $34 will be saved in crisis intervention. Please join in the fun of our largest fundraiser of the year.

The 17th Annual Roof Sit will be held on Friday, February 1st at McDonald’s Food & Family Center in Bad Axe. The alternate date will be Friday, February 8h in case of inclement weather.

Enclosed is this year’s team packet. It is suggested that you begin fundraising immediately in order to qualify for a time that suits your team’s needs on the roof. For donors who may ask, CA/N Council is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and the letter is available upon request. Team should be registered by mail at the PO Box no later than January 14, 2013.

This is your chance to do your part in our community to help prevent child abuse and neglect. Your place of business may not be able to provide a team, but you could consider a casual day, bake sale, penny drive or even a corporate donation to the Council. Every penny helps!

Child abuse leaves us cold, but there is warmth in the hearts of the citizens of this community. It starts with you! Again, thank you for all you do to help our children and families. Every little bit helps and everyone has an important role to play. Plus, you can be part of a really fun day! We hope you will join us!
